This depends on your client and relay. Any that support NIP-09 have a deletion request but its not universal or enforced

Right, but system-wide I don’t think you can call “deletion” as long as it not universally enforced. But it’s not possible to enforce either..

Since it not possible to enforce, I see it mostly as an UI feature, when a client decides how to present and what to show/hide..

btw, edits can also be implemented just an UI (client) feature
