Whether or not one believes in fate or destiny will be determined by whether or not one believes things are deterministic or random. I happen to believe the former and it sounds like you believe the latter.

I’m open to changing my mind all the time if an argument is compelling but so far I haven’t heard any that are - of course I haven’t spent much time on the subject, maybe such arguments already exist.

I don’t hold on to any belief dearly. Someone new information and viewpoints present themselves and I’ll consider them.
