My (step) son got an electronic drum and also started drum classes — whenever wound up I just ask him to teach me a new rythm pattern to practice, helps to get the mind off things. (And now also reminds of the movie The Big Short)
Whenever I get burned out, music is a key thing that regenerates me. It helps remind me what I care about.
Specifically, rock is what tends to get me, because the vibe of the song fixates me on whatever issues I'm trying to work on, and reminds me not to be a pussy.
