I wonder if this was one of the punishments as a result of not turning back to God based on the happenings at Fatima, Portugal about that time. So many things went wrong around that time, including WW1. I think the timeline matches up, but I'll have to dig in to verify.
Very interesting, I had never heard of this but it seems that there was a group of Shepards in Fatima Portugal who reported apparitions of the mother Mary. Is that what you are referring to? Seems this happened in 1917 but still very interesting.
You may be right. It's been a number of years since I did any research or reading on it. I know it was right before WW1 started, so if it was 1917, that would have been after the Fed was created. Hmmm. I need to go back and read up some more, but yes, I'm referring to the Fatima children who received visions culminating in the great miracle of the sun, which many people experienced and reported on.
