Open sourcing this is difficult but right. Next step would be to have an algorithm marketplace where people can build or use any of their own choosing. Bluesky has this speced out in at protocol.

Oh, it’s the right thing to do and algo selection is critical (glad at is doing so) but this, on top of some his actions since taking over . . . it leaves a lot to be desired.

We've been talking about algo relay-services here at Nos w/ #[4] reviving Weinberger's cluetrain concept now of really doing "small parts loosely joined" picking up on microservices from early 2000s… renewing that concept in todays' dweb architecture headspace. The hangover of centralized headspace may take many time to get over. Working dweb demos are the aspirin.

Totally agree - it almost negates having a decentralised protocol if you have a centralised algorithm. Excited to see what a user-controlled algorithm could look like - this to me is the future of social
