In the spring, I use the scythe every day for 20 minutes or so.

I have a long grass blade, and a short bush blade. I’ve been able to kill off blackberries and turn a fair sized area into yard just using the scythe. It’s great, meditative exercise, and it’s also an effective tool. I actually don’t own a mower.

But I did buy a quality one from a company that hand makes them, and takes your measurements to make sure the snath fits your body.

I’ve used an old dull scythe before and it’s not pretty.

Blisters and a sore back.

But it was still a lot of fun haha

Oh man. That doesn’t sound fun. A super sharp blade with a fitted snath is a breeze. Especially on flat ground with normal grass. It’s faster than a mower.
