I hate it when straight folks invade queer safe spaces. They think they're being cool. They might even think it shows them to be our ally, but obliterating our safe spaces is not consistent with being an ally.

And gay guys are sometimes part of the problem. Young gay guys who (until recently) never knew what it was like to be an oppressed minority sometimes invite their "girlfriends" out to the gay bar with them. But then, in the din of the noise you start hearing more girls' voices than male voices - and it's just not the same anymore.

We get bachelorette parties invading gay bars in NYC. Sadly, because of laws here the bouncers can’t say anything, but the other customers can. And we do at times.

Honestly though, str8 women always seem to invade gay bars, not lesbian bars… Lesbian bars are struggling and need the business, so if they want to be allies…
