Way ahead of schedule? Bitcoin is about 15 years old now. It's half as old as the internet browser is.
It's marvelous that fees are still $35 on a bad day. Segwit, batching, Lightning, and all sorts of things have provided release valves but on-chain block space is potentially among the most valuable long-term real estate in the world.
