When do you think the amount of whole-coiner addresses will roll over? Around 2M?
Discussion
Tough to predict any other that. I just like to see decentralization happening on chain.
The more plebs the better. If price dips it will expand further. Regardless I save in Bitcoin.
It is a beautiful thing. I mostly was just wondering when do you think Bitcoin will reach the point where it’s so difficult for one individual to afford a 1 BTC UTXO that the whole-coin addresses will be net sellers (decreasing)
Will be very interesting to watch this trend over the next decade
Every sell has a buyer. I love to see whales or entities who don’t share the core ethos take their fiat profit.
My hypothetical is post-hyperbitcoinization
In a world with 8B people using only 21M Bitcoins, the amount of value you would have to provide to ever accumulate a full coin would be huge - far too much for most people. Since by then, most people with full Bitcoins would be second generation Bitcoiners, they likely wouldn’t have the frugality required to keep that amount of money without spending it down. I personally think this will happen around 2M whole coin UTXOs, but it will be very interesting to observe. The rolling over of whole-coin addresses would represent to me the maturity of Bitcoin as global money.
