In the States, there are questions some ask to help them figure out whether or not you're worth talking to. Where did you go to college? What do you do? I never ask these questions because I don't consider those things a valid indication of much other than what the person talking about them values them for. Once people tell me what they do, because they're driven to, I ask them if they like It their job, their life. If they're happy. I don't care about your badges of ability.
