I’m seeing the same thing with my relays. We only share a couple in common anyway. I don’t think this “debunks” my original post though. You’ve deleted it from some relays. If someone broadcast your notes to a relay that does not honor deletion then those notes would still exist on that relay. Deleting something from Nostr (all of Nostr) is not really feasible.

In Amethyst, Vitor wisely choose the word "Request Deletion" for those action. Well, as we don't have fully guarantee that the notes fully deleted from all relay that save the notes. 😅
I noticed that. Definitely good choice of wording.
Yup, otherwise some uninformed users might blame him "why my notes fully deleted, you're liar" 😅
Yeah it's a good choice of words. Users can also check whether the relays they are connecting to claim to support NIP-09 (e.g. load the relay in snort to see what NIPs are supported). If you only connect to relays that advertise support for NIP-09, I think there's a decent chance your request will be honored.
Sounds right. The only circumstance where it may still exist is if someone had re-broadcast your post to their connected nodes and one or more didn’t support the NIP. Probably a rare occurrence but still something to keep in mind.
Yes, that's why I originally said "kind of".
If you are picky about which relays you broadcast to (e.g., relays that don't rebroadcast and that do honor NIP-09), you could have pretty high confidence about it. I think today that most relays do not rebroadcast and do offer NIP-09 support, so deletion should work "OK" for most people.
I agree with you it's not 100%, and that if somebody *really* wants to dig something up they might be able to. Key word is “might”.
It’s better than nothing, that’s for sure. I will still keep to my rule of thinking twice before posting anything that I think I may regret later 😅😂
