FUCK YEAH LETS FUCKING GO.

I still use the sandboxed Google play, though, so I'm still like a normie at heart 🧡

But it's really nice not being logged into my Google account all the time or sharing boatloads of data with Google or other services.

My set up steps after installation are usually to get fdroid online. Then I install bitwarden, mullvad, and aurora from there, and then everything else. You can install Google play services from the Apps app.

Mullvad for VPN? And aurora is new to me.

Was considering nostr:npub1vr2nva0s0hhfulthjy8053rg9kruk5erzwaxdw85gjwkfytj994sgudzvx too.

Yes, I switched from nordvpn to mullvad, and I like it a lot better. Simpler to pay with Bitcoin and the app is on fdroid.

Aurora is an alternative play store where you can download and install apps anonymously. You have to log in with your Google account temporarily to install apps that you've purchased though. You can always remove your account afterwards in settings.

I also just switched to silent link for my data plan and US mobile for calls and texts. It's a little weird still, but it's a whole lot cheaper than a regular all-in-one plan, and it's nice using 5G anonymously now.

Also just made a big leap from Google maps to OSMAnd+. That was a toughie because it needs a good deal of setup. I still have Google maps to look places up, but I do all of my navigation on OSMAnd now.

I just tell people I make my phone less convenient as a hobby.

I have used Graphene for a long time. Been great!
