It’s desensitization to horrific things. Perpetuated by main stream media. Governments use this to pass laws that should in a normal situation not have a hope in hell of passing.
i'm guessing this is the same mechanism that otoh makes people freak out when a bear or shark eats someone even tho that's statistically insignificant af.
We're probably gonna see that in France soon. New internet laws after the riots. Rioters were let to blow off steam after the killing for a few days then after public opinion had enough the hammer. And new laws.
It's an evolutionary trait that is being used as a tool for ruling longer.
