“Social engineering” is a necessary side-effect of CBDC. Normative ascription or moral debate within a society about “bad” or “good” behaviours won’t matter if individuals within a democracy have been modified into their opinions. With CBDC the state will simply block unwanted behaviours through blocking of transactions.
