Question- as an Aussie we use the word Chook for chicken as slang. Is that universal or is that an Aussie thing. Do Americans use the word chook. ๐Ÿฃ

Never heard of it(american)

no

Nah, that ainโ€™t us. Chicken is the word we use.

Ok. Now I understand when people look at me strange when I use that word. People are too polite to ask what the fuck did you just say

Now i wanna start using it. Maybe add a โ€œyโ€ onto the end, just to mess with it. โ€œHey yโ€™all, i cooked us up some chooky for dinner. Letโ€™s eat!โ€

*ducks thrown rocks*

Like โ€œHere chook chook chook chook chookโ€ when throwing feed/scratch ?

Yep.

Yes then I do say that living in the states and owning chickens myself. Iโ€™ve heard some say chick. Is chook just a slown down chick ๐Ÿคฃ

I say this because I used to work with someone from Australia and they would make fun of Americans for saying something like $9.99 really fast and they said it much slower ๐Ÿ˜†

No we donโ€™t

Not here... but I like it.

We bastardize everything. We always use nicknames as well. Have a mate whoโ€™s last name is Fowler. He gets called Chooky. So hope this gives insight into how we roll

which americans do you mean?

mexicans? ticos? argentinos?

no never heard there

yeah because we all know that when people hear "America" they are totally confused and always ask the follow-up "but wut aboot muh latinx?"

No but im gonna start now you chook!

Aussies have ridiculous words for everything.

Like โ€œoh sheโ€™s a chook!โ€? ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜‚

I think the rule of thumb here is "chook" is only a common term if you're somewhere "cunt" isn't offensive.

I believe 'Chook' is how most Americans spell 'Chicken'.
