Had a long 4 hour talk with a good friend of mine, and at some point we talked about presidents and I called Andrew Jackson the only good democrat and Teddy Roosevelt the only good republican. He said “the only good democrat is a dead one…which works because Andrew Jackson is a good democrat and he’s dead” and i said “well the only good republican is a dead republican, and Teddy Roosevelt is dead so there you go”. There was a strong silence for a second, pretty sure we were both lamenting our lack of good leaders.
