I planted native mulberry along this hillside, but it is either gone or struggling. And then this red mulberry popped up seeming out of nowhere.

I'm not sure what's up with that, I'm seeing it too.

How long ago did you plant this? Normally it takes a long time for mulberry to produce fruit.

This isn't one I planted. I think it might have come up from an old root.
