just mention to the TSA agent "I would like to opt out of the body scanner" 👍 quick full body pat down (under 2 min) and you are on your way .... they are supposed to be "safe" but it's still radiation

Yea I need to do it. I pass too many times in the scanner per year definitely not good long term. Glad to hear you haven't had any unpleasant experiences opting out. When I head back home I'm going opt out finally.

Ive never been in the scanner, always opt for pat-down, even when I'm "in a hurry". Sorry, thats not an excuse, you checknin before you go through security and your plane ian't going to leave without you. I know they claim its millimeter wave, which technichally is close to the far infrared region and should be biologically inert. Regardless, this band of spectrum does not naturally occur in coherent and directed form. This hasn't been proven over dozens of years of testing and given our poor record of discretely identifying causes of cancer. I'll let everyone else be a gunea pig, but I don't let my family use it.
