Some people think bitcoin and Monero can’t coexist, but nobody can tell you what to use. If you want maximum privacy, you’ve got a use case there. But if you want a long-term way to protect your savings against inflation, there’s really only one way to do it.
people often advertise bitcoin as a decentralized currency when that's not really what it is anymore. yeah they can coexist but like you said they're 2 different things with different uses.
I think it fits the description just fine, and that doesn’t mean other solutions can’t also be decentralized. Bitcoin is winning the battle for store of value, and will become the base layer of a more private medium of exchange.
oh im not saying it isn't decentralized, i'm saying it doesn't work as well as a standalone general currency you can use to make small private purchases with in my opinion, like ya said its great for storing wealth
they got their own uses
