What’s the consensus on whether apps can/should have multiple ways of doing the same action on different pages or in different places?

This'll probably sound like a broken record, but I'd say it depends.

The downside of redundancy is that it could clutter and overwhelm a user on a home screen or settings screen for example.

One kind of flow you might consider is something like deep-linking. A conditional banner notification saying there's now a dark mode could link to the toggle on the settings page instead of there being a toggle on the home screen header and one on the settings page.

Thanks Jon. Yeah – it's an odd one because the app I'm working on now doesn't have a ton of features but they are sort of interconnected in a way that I feel some users are going to want to do the workflow from one direction and others are going to want to do it from the other direction.

I'm generally very in favor of opinionated software but feels like a situation where an exception might be appropriate.
