If politicians would be forced to enter war by themselves and all of their family members and friends must serve on the front, they would surely avoid any conflict or escalation at all costs.

As long as this is not the case, they can freely debate about delivering weapons and sending troops to any place in the world in the name of peace and democracy.

They themselves won't have to risk their lives and their family members will already be abroad to enjoy the well earned tax money from home.
