Defeatist, no? Are you saying you'd rather Americans be unarmed and follows in the footsteps of the Commonwealth countries?

What I’m saying is that I don’t think it moves the needle very much. I don’t see any scenario in which the US military is outmatched in firepower and I find it ridiculous to claim otherwise.

I'd suggest that by comparison to the EU, the Commonwealth, et al, we're faring much better, if still disappointingly. It's not binary.

I don’t claim to have the answers but the Constitution is just words on paper and the real world is very different.

Indeed. The words require backing. In lieu of arms, all we have left are more words.
