Replying to Avatar Super Testnet

One of the things I like about bip143 is its detailed specification of the segwit sighash algorithm, screenshot attached. Why isn't there a bip that outlines the corresponding specification for pre-segwit (legacy) transactions?

An LLM told me it's because the pre-segwit sighash algorithm predated the bip process, but it still seems appropriate to me for an informational bip to specify how to do such things
