I like it.
Seems like a similar concept to DVMs but with access points within the walled gardens.
I've not used Whatsapp but I'd assume it has the same risk as other permissioned networks. The permissioned network can easily block access to a user that dispenses useful & contraversial information.
You could play wackamole with them but users would need to as well.
The main approach for the centralisation risk is that anyone will be able to run the gateway servers for locals around them and we have separated out key signing servers so you can either self host that if you can or that can be decentralised to groups as well.
None of it runs through WhatsApp apis so it’s not obvious what would be going on to figure out to ban it.
If they did ban it your actual account is built on Nostr so it’s portable across whats app / signal / telegram / bitchat / sms
