It's absolutely disgusting. Even if a parent approves/consents, a child will still not be allowed on social media. It includes Youtube and many others.

Trying to dumb down Australians. How about providing quality education on how to navigate the new world with its AI and scams, etc.?

You have no idea how angry I am. Yesterday, I could hardly do any work because it depressed me so much. I texted friends to let them know about this and about the misinformation/disinformation bill, including links where they could send submissions, sign petitions and write to politicians. None of them answered the text message.

When I read some of the comments in Youtube videos about the under 16 thing, many support the move! Adults have no idea that they will need to use the Digital ID, that was recently brought in, for age verification (or face/fingerprint ID). Next phase, I think that unless you're "vaccinated" you won't be able to use the internet! LOL 😱🫣🥴

I don't watch mainstream, yet I did notice that this was all over mainstream TV. Announcing this under 16 "thing" before it has even passed in parliament to muddy the waters & distract for the misinformation/disinformation bill that has passed one house and is about to go to Senate, with a handful of independents to decide the outcome.
