To all the diehard Nostr fans that think the current Nostr design is awesome and censorship resistant, how will you block an entire country from posting images like this? Most of the images like this come from the Fediverse, specifically Japan. On Nostr, anyone can post to any relay as much as they want and we would have to block each user individually. Now multiply that by an entire country. Usually software similar to Nostr allows you to control content and users but this design is a free-for-all for DDOS and content like the image below. Imagine Twitter Refugees coming to Nostr and seeing this posted every minute or so like it does now

How does Nostr plan to solve this? Don't give me that "just a protocol" shit.

Maybe some kind of AI image recognition DVM could reduce this. But I don't expect it to ever catch 100%.

Those services are not free and that will be another burden on relay operators. This open design free-for-all concept is not going to scale well and will be bad for the user experience.....Most of this content is coming through from one relay and it ends up on every other relay. The only thing you can do is block each one individually. It never ends.

We will not block anyone from posting images like this - we can’t. Clients handle it differently.

As a poster you could add a content warning or a known hashtag like ‚nsfw‘ and apps would know to hide it.

If you fail to do so your account may end up on a filter list (e.g. primal hides a number of accounts by default). This could happen to you now.

Many clients only only show content from your followers and blur content in the global feed. This way you only see content from trusted users.
