yeah, same rent as i'm paying now, apartment at the top floor in a suburb near the airport (santa cruz) had a bathtub with bubble pump and all, as well as a second bathroom with a shower, two toilets

and yes, i asked the owner and he confirmed it was normal for there to be 1:1 bedroom/bathroom on the island, and i haven't seen others but i can totally believe it, and i know there is at least 2 bathrooms downstairs

not only that, granite kitchen benches are normal too... commonly black granite, it seems, not just the bench but the walls around it, very easy to clean

the rental price is worth it for these luxury features, i just wish they'd put a bathtub in this apartment attached to their house, bastards

part of the reason for this is that this is a volcanic island, and there are several big quarries that dig up granite and slice it up all day long

i remember seeing it on the road up from camacha central to the airbnb i rented when i first arrived, loads of sliced shards of fancy stone just laying around

that's partly why in portugal in general, it is very common to see pavements and driveways composed out of shattered shards of fancy granitic rock slivers, it's pretty wild, but i think most of it comes from these volcanic islands

also, said apartment was about 3x the size of my current one at the same price, and two bedrooms, second bathroom with only shower

yes rents are high here but the properties are luxury

i couldn't stand the primary school across the road though, drove me fuckin nuts
