This may be a dumb question to ask for some, but ill ask it anyways... So when you get a public key to deposit into a wallet and put #bitcoin into cold storage. Is that public key good forever? Like can you send #btc and #satoshis to that wallet 55 years from now?

Yes, it will always work in the future.
Bitcoin makes changes using soft forks which are backwards compatible.
That means no upgrade is allowed to break a previous version.
So once you send a wallet address you can just keep sending to that forever as long as the person still holds that wallet? That's just great lol.
