According to press reports, #BuenosAires -based oil company Tecpetrol will begin mining Bitcoin.

Accordingly, Tecpetrol will open the first gas cryptocurrency mining facility in the Los Toldos II Este area of ​​#Argentina.

They plan to extract at least 35,000 barrels of oil per day at this facility, the company said they will start mining cryptocurrency to consume this gas due to the lack of infrastructure to consume the gas released in oil extraction process.

Tecpetrol CEO Ricardo Markous said in his statement: “We chose to launch cryptocurrency mining operations because we cannot release petroleum gas into the environment. “At this point, we think the amount of natural gas entering the atmosphere will be significantly reduced and operations will be much more sustainable.” In the company's statement, it said it plans to start mining the cryptocurrency between late October and early November.
