According to my nine year-old son, the word "meme" can be used to describe nearly anything amusing that is a variation on a theme. This extends to videos and even real life. When I ask what he and his school friends do at lunch, he says they just meme, ie. repeat stupid jokes to make each other laugh. Funny how the word "meme" has become a meme in itself.
