It’s so simple but so complicated at the same time. This here is a motorbike that has been designed with Topology Optimisation techniques allowing for the stresses on the bike to be measured and for material to be added and subtracted in exact points with the explicit goal of removing weight from

the structure without loosing structural integrity. Incredibly important in aerospace engineering but think how this kind of technique could bring down costs for manufacturing all sorts of items today. Definitely doing more with less.

ive been working on shelter structures, and power systems with these ideas.

trying to abstract away from tradition, building codes, and other inefficiencies, to innovate using the cheapest, and most maintainable materials available. His ideas are inspiring here…

Any funky power systems you’ve personally got going on?

I built two 5kwh storage systems using as few moving parts as possible, so they are more easily maintainable, using LiFePo4 cells. Theyve been our primary source of power for 4 years now. We charge them with solar, and augment with small charging generators in the winter. Next power generation project is a simple waterwheel, with a truck alternator. The key though, for us, has been to see what things we can remove from mainstream power dependency. i.e. laundry, refridgeration, etc. It's been working for us.

Fantastic! You’ve got a stream on the property? Also what sort of alternative structured you exploring, ground ships?

streams, yes.

still formulating structure ideas.
