One must consider that Signal does not spread among the masses through the argument of 'security' alone (nobody cares about security and privacy tbh). Rather, it spreads through 'looks and works like WhatsApp, but is safer'.

the central servers that can't read e2e encrypted messages? they probably used israeli spyware pegasus which gives complete control over the phone.
