If you ever see one of these splitting hatchets at your local Stihl or Husqvarna dealer, I can’t recommend the hatchet and the axe version enough. The edge geometry makes splitting so effortless. I modded the hatchet with some camo duct tape to protect the shaft from the occasional overswing (hasn’t been marked yet), some skateboard grip tape, and a wrist strap.
