I know a lot of ppl that have left but 2500 daily users also seems very low.

2.5K active users on nostr is like a group chat compare that with 229K active users on mastodon.social (thats just 1 instance) thats pretty sad, but anyway, stay humble and keep on zapping
229k is monthly users for mastodon.social. Pretty sure that 2.5k includes anyone we're dragging across the bridge by following though, since the npubs would look the same. Add in some spam and it's a bit of a blackpill.
maybe nostr active users more comparable with irc active users? anyway stay humble 🤙
The most disappointing thing about my humility is that it hasn't been widely recognised and awarded yet.
Just realised that we aren't seeing 24hr totals for latest day so it always shows a deep drop for the today's data. No previous day shows less than 6k.

That still seems low, I can look at global whenever and see a ton of ppl I’ve never seen before. I wonder what daily active users means.
Nostr will be amazing when it's just like 10 people who couldnt get BlueSky invites
i got an invite for you of you want but that would make less people on nostr lol
Hmm I wonder if I should join. Everyday I think I should be off social media altogether, yet here I am.
Also you're on BlueSky... And you haven't left nostr...? How come? I'm worried I'll be on two social medias which is worse than being on one only lol.
Even though it took me way too long to get onto here I wouldn't be too worried. In my layman's opinion nostr just needs more niche groups to realize it's a worthwhile protocol to use. Mastodon and activity pub were extremely niche for a long time, it took Elon taking over twitter to start the massive shift. I foresee something stupid happening with activity pub (specifically mastodon doing something) then more people will either join here or bluesky.
Also AP servers do have something that nostr kind of doesn't: A sense of community with federated servers, and users on your own server. Personally that never bothered me I only used single user instances, but I imagine that a lot of people like having that.
IDK. Kind of rambling here, but my final note is that I think the best part of nostr has to be the private key / public key authentication. I dream of more services doing this it's just such a based way to handle accounts. That concept might be another barrier though for some users.
I think the biggest flaw with fedi is that it’s an echo chamber, that’s just how it works out given the whole fediblock thing. But some ppl want that so I dunno.
The pubkey thing seems bad in a way since clients could steal your key and then impersonate you or see your DMs. There should be a way to change it and prevent that.
😱
Maybe the warmer weather on the weekend has people in the northern hemisphere doing something productive with their lives (the bastards).
his method for determining trusted pubkeys is pretty poor ie i wouldnt be counted in this.
idk what real DAU would look like, still probably poor tho
