In a future world where Nostr has taken off and everyone posts notes that can't be deleted and that live in perpetuity, everyone will eventually say something that will be a cancelable offense. For example people have been canceled for saying or doing things that were accepted by society at the time, but are no longer accepted. But if everyone has been offensive, can cancel culture even exist? Where are they going to find "clean" replacements?

This too shall pass? Europe was mired in religious wars for centuries before people got sick enough of it to try toleration. Perhaps the high tide of cancel culture will take less time to recede.

The religious wars example is something I hadn't thought of. Thanks for the response!
