Was just reading Harry Potter to my kids and probably the last author I was expecting JK Rowling to reference was JK Huysmans.

I googled J.K Huysman but dont understand the reference

In the most famous scene of Huysmans' most famous novel "A Rebours", the jaded, aristocratic protagonist, who has locked himself away to indulge his decadent aesthetic appetites, encrusts a tortise's shell with gemstones until the poor thing eventually dies under their weight. Rowling clearly has darker tastes than I expected.

My goodness!
