Pretty sure all windfarms have internet for remote monitoring / control. Same for wells?
Will it work as a datacenter if it's not very fast? I doubt it but I may be wrong.

Plus - cost of securing it from theft, fire and so on will be much higher when you have many small datacenters instead of just 1 or few. Decentralization isn't cheapest way of doing things and costs!
bitcoin mining doesn't need fas internet connections.
