What's the problem with the notifications?

The bell only seems to light up half the time.
Not noticing that anyone replied to a message if it isn't directly in my feed.
I find myself switching back and forth between Primal and Amethyst
One client shows a message and the other one doesn't, I think if I uniformly match my relys to the clients, that would fix the issue
Also, different client have different spam filters
