‍WLFI Blocks Hacking Attempts with Onchain Blacklisting

DeFi project WLFI has successfully defended against hacking attempts targeting its token launch. The project implemented proactive onchain blacklisting, disabling compromised wallets before the official launch. This strategy neutralized accounts identified as compromised due to end-user breaches, such as private key losses, thereby safeguarding user funds and vesting mechanisms.

Despite these defenses, WLFI users face ongoing threats, including fake smart contracts and sophisticated phishing exploits leveraging the Ethereum EIP-7702 upgrade. This upgrade, while enhancing user experience, has created a new attack vector allowing attackers to drain funds with an offchain signed message. Users are reminded to verify contract addresses and prioritize private key security.
