In your opinion, what are the reasons #bitcoin won't see enough adoption to seriously rival & threaten The Banking System© and instead fade into irrelevance against the Fiat Empire maintained by the Statusquorians? Fire away. What sucks?

I think just because bitcoin isn't status quo is enough to not get adoptd. Noone is going to update a system unless they really have to, like Southwest Airlines or the imperial system.
