I’ve been inquiring into the Orthodox tradition, and they have fasts all year on certain days.

The periods without meat are a significant sacrifice and they're stricter with it.

About 2/3 of the year is dedicated to fasts lol

Yeah, I'm Catholic. Same.

But I think the Orthodox are more hardcore about it. Vegan, instead of vegetarian, or something.

I can't do vegan for more than a few days at a time. Food torture.

Lent is more "meat only on Sundays" and that seems to be enough to make me feel completely different.

It’s funny we you say that. We have a guy in our local Beef Talk chat, state he felt the best when he was vegan.

I could be missing the point of fasting in asking this, but how does one get enough protein? Is there an Orthodox Bodybuilding cookbook?

Legumes, I suppose.
