Was Wallet of Satoshi denominated in sats from install?

I can't see a way to switch it to bitcoin. It's like satoshis are bitcoin & we're all just zapping 1000's of bitcoin around like psychopaths.

Think it's always been sats. That's all I can remember anyway, and it's been a while.
