"Money in the bank is a risk," She said.

I'm currently on vacation and had an intersting conversation about banks, the housing and financial markets worth sharing.

I'm in California on Vacation from Canada. We have a family friend who is 78 years young. She's had a FULL life (9 great grandkids, dated a rock star, had 3 marriages, etc hah!) and is a savy business woman who worked in education, tourism, property management, and ran a bed and breakfast.

In her retirement she's quite nimble with her real estate and just listed her place in a gated community that she just finished renovating. She's looking to buy a similar un-renovated property in the same community.

When I asked her why, she said, "I think the market is going to go turn and want to get my money out, but I also don't want to put my money in the bank because that's a risk too."

My partner and I exchanged glances. She continued and said, "Have you heard about the bank issues here?"

I didn't bring up Bitcoin or Nostr, lol. But later talked to her about real estate investing.

An intersting perspective from someone of that age.

You didn't bring up Bitcoin... she sounds like the exact kinda person that would get it right away.
