HELL YEAH π congratssss how are you celebrating?
By not studying anymore π€£ And sending out more job applications
What jobs you aiming for? SOC analyst? Or?
I'm working towards being able to pivot into Cybersecurity but understand it's going to take more certifications and the right opportunity. I'm more actively looking for a job in telecom to bridge the gap.
As for what specifically I want to do in Cybersecurity - I really don't know. But it's a field that's totally fascinating to me and I want to find a way in.
What are you pivoting from?
telecom engineering/mgmt. I don't hate it but I'm not interested in it at all, and learning how to navigate my ADHD has helped me understand how easily I get distracted away from things that don't interest me. It makes me bad at my job -- or at least it keeps me from doing my best.
So I guess what I'm really doing is trying to pivot away from something that doesn't interest me and in to something that does.
Makes sense. Sec+ with that experience should make for a solid pivot. There are so many ways to pivot but my understanding is ppl usually go blue team first and soc analyst is a common first job. Definitely dream big though and explore all the things and just apply to whatever seems interesting! Excited to see where this takes you!
