it is has come to my attention that some users find my caps to be aggressive and disturbing

for the good of the protocol I will be reducing caps usage going forward

Odell. in book, when in quotes, loud yelling by the characters is in all caps to emphasize it.

This is why when people see all caps posts, it comes across as yelling.

In some old nonfiction all caps is used as emphasis.

Also DEATH talks in all caps in discworld. I doubt he's yelling.

So it's just your perception, not reality.
