Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is delaying the construction of their Arizona microchip plant due to an “insufficient amount of skilled workers”. They might have to fly in “experienced technicians from Taiwan to train the local skilled workers for a short period of time.”

We are in a crisis state due to the lack of skilled labor in this country.

Didn't Tesla import German engineers and technicians, for the same reason?

Allegedly Siemens had to do something similar because their plant in CA couldn’t find anyone who had the skills needed to build light rail cars/Stadtbahnwagens for the US market.

The secret problem is that vocation training is seen as the dumping ground for dumb or disruptive students and even that’s hilariously underfunded. So nobody wants to be bothered with it.
