A typical MRI machine might consume about 3-5 kW per hour during active scanning, with higher power usage during peak operation. Assume an average scan time of roughly 1 hour and electricity cost of ~12 cents per kWh (US average), the electricity cost for one full body MRI scan would be in the range of 36-60 cents.

Now considering the time for the radiologist to read and interpret the results the total cost of a ful body MRI is ~$1000-$5000. In addition the reading of the radiological imagies can be completely performed by a CNN(AI), with the physician verifying the AI reads.

Medicine in the US is a scam, and we are all paying so much for LITERALLY nothing.

I also believe physicians are overpaid.
