Yeah, that's what my son does. I think the mom (I assume it was her kid) was more just running on auto cause the baby didn't make sounds, or even movements. It looked kinda rough how she was doing it, like she was frustrated, but her face didn't look frustrated.

I tend to go for what works, so unless my son calls my attention to having a need, I tend to let him be. (Except for playing and evganing either him of course) Though sometimes my hand starts tapping his back from habit.. I know, cause I kept tapping when I put my hand on my husband too 😅🤣

She did look a bit tired, so I think part of what I was reacting to was that she might be over doing things that aren't needed, and if she reduced some of those to only when they're needed, she'd have more energy for when they really are needed.

At least that's something I've noticed has helped me.
