What happens when you increase the money supply by 2x over night?

You'll have 2x the balance in your bank account but the price of everything will go up by 2x so nothing will change.

The idea is to increase output by MORE than what you printed.

Has that been achieved?

Over the course of 40 years, the US has increased its money supply by 14x and Japan by 6.4x.

However GDP (nominal) in the US has only increased by 8.8x and Japan only by a pitiful 2.4x.

Printing money does not change anything, rather, it makes the world less productive.

And in recent years, the increase in output that one gets from printing addtional money continues to decrease.

There is no going back but there is a way to jump this sinking ship.
