it helps a bit that everyone there is going to college, but one important thing he does here is not make a big deal out of the rejections.

there's a camera there, and everyone can see it, but that's both good and bad. it makes people curious because he's making a video, but a lot of people don't like being on camera and might think it's some kind of prank, so i'm thinking it kind of doesn't make much of a difference.

you feel like you're with him as a viewer, but that's an illusion. people just saw a dude walking around alone with a selfie camera.
